State Canal System to open several days ahead of schedule | News
The State Canal System opens this weekend, several days ahead of schedule.
The Champlain Canal opens on Sunday and the Erie Canal opens Saturday.
That will allow crews to move three vintage airplanes from the Port of Albany to the Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville.
The planes are from the intrepid sea, air, and space museum in Manhattan. They were removed to make room for the Space Shuttle Enterprise.
The planes will be at lock two in Waterford at 10 a.m. Saturday.
