Volunteer firefighters needed | Community Spirit

There's a statewide effort going on to slow down the growing shortage of volunteer firefighters.

The state Firemen's Association held a news conference Tuesday morning in Waterford detailing the second annual Recruit NY program.

All this week many volunteer fire companies will open their doors to area residents to show them what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter.

They're urging you to consider taking part.
